About FRALEX ESS

Engineered Service Solutions — Founded June 2026

FRALEX ESS (Engineered Service Solutions) is an independent online engineering standard and consultancy founded in June 2026 by Frank Havemann. FRALEX ESS is built on 25 years of field experience in live interventions on pressurized, degraded piping systems — and addresses a structural gap that no existing committee norm covers.

25 Years Field Experience
27 Published Standard Volumes
7,500+ Pages of Engineering Standards
4 Standard Sub-Systems

The Gap FRALEX ESS Fills

Established industry norms — ASME B31.3, PCC-2, API 570, ISO 24817, EN 13480 — terminate before the live intervention decision moment on degraded, pressurized, operational assets. At this critical point, decision responsibility is silently delegated to the executing contractor, who has no norm covering the actual scenario.

FRALEX ESS is the first independently developed decision framework that governs exactly this moment — the grey zone where existing standards go silent and real liability begins.

Who is Frank Havemann

Frank Havemann is the founder of FRALEX ESS and FRALEX GmbH with 25 years of hands-on field experience across Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical and Offshore industries. His expertise covers the four core live intervention disciplines: Online Leak Sealing, Hot Tapping, Pipe Freezing and Composite Repair.

He also serves as Sales Representative Europe for Deacon sealants and operates the IFI Forum — an industry knowledge exchange platform for live pressure system professionals.

What Makes FRALEX ESS Different

FRALEX ESS is not a certification body, not a trade association, and not a committee. It is a single-author engineering standard built from 25 years of direct field experience at the exact moment every existing norm goes silent — live intervention on aged, pressurized, degraded assets in operating plants.

The standard is independently developed, not consensus-driven. It covers what committees cannot: the actual decision architecture at the point of intervention.
